Giving Thanks: A Message from Skyler Logsdon, CEO of Boomerang

Since childhood, Thanksgiving week has held a special place in my heart, marking my favorite time of the year. The shortened school and work week brings loved ones together, allowing us to engage in simple yet profoundly meaningful activities that our hectic schedules and far distances in between often keep at bay.

Personally, I find a lot of joy in sharing great food with my loved ones, throwing the football around with my brother and neighbors, lighting the fireplace at night, and indulging in prime-time content together, from live sports (my sister naps during this time) to festive movies (she wakes up for this).

It’s these very moments that have always made Thanksgiving my most cherished week.

Reflecting on this past year, my heart is filled with immense gratitude for what Boomerang has been able to accomplish. We’ve grown our team significantly, with each new team member being an A+ caliber player dedicated to our mission of reuniting people with their lost items. Their passion and utmost commitment have been the driving force behind our success.

In the past year, we’ve been fortunate to welcome many new, stellar partners to the Boomerang network. The enthusiasm and collaborative spirit across our partners to reunite users with their lost items is incredible. Without our partners, we wouldn’t be here.

And, of course, our investors in Boomerang – thank you for your continued belief and support that pushes us forward in big ways.

My gratitude extends even to the challenges we faced over the last year – those unexpected speed bumps and the partnership pitches that didn’t go our way. Each challenge and rejection had its own reason, and whether fair or justified, we’ve learned valuable lessons in the process. Boomerang is so much stronger today due to the proverbial “kick in the butt” (even if it felt more like a punch in the gut at the time).

Looking ahead to 2024, our plans and ambitions for Boomerang are stronger than ever. We are capable, determined, and passionate about our mission of solving Lost & Found. Undoubtedly, more challenges will come our way, but as Thanksgiving is an annual event, I’m confident I’ll look back at those challenges with gratitude, too. For now, I encourage everyone to embrace the pause from busy schedules, savor these precious moments with loved ones, and find joy in the simple yet extraordinary moments of this Thanksgiving week.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, everyone.

Skyler Logsdon
